Shona sculptures impress, stimulate, and inspire. The Shona sculptor, John Banda (first picture) and his team of Harare, carved the 6-8" (150-200mm) stone fine art sculpture a leopard in a tree from a solid piece or raw soapstone(steatite) known locally as rapoko. They skillfully capture with great detail a rare African wildlife scene as leopards are nocturnal. Admired by Picasso and many other artists and sculptors, many critics view Shona sculptors to be the world’s current era of greatest rock artists and sculptors. Being hand carved from raw stone, no two sculptures, however similar, even by the same artist/sculptor, are identical.
This magnificent example of the Shona talent sells for more than $200 in USA, EU, and Asian art galleries. We are able to offer them at moderate prices by contracting directly with the sculptor at fair trade prices. A professional geologist has notarized the certificate of authenticity, origin, and appraised value for each individual sculpture is available for a small additional fee and highly recommended for insurance purposes. Type 'yes' in box next to Cert. origin/value $20.00 if you want the certificate.
