When a Gift in Lieu donation is made, an appropriate card with the donor’s name and message is sent to the person celebrating their special occasion. An additional charge of $5 is requested to cover the cost of the card, labor, and mailing. The donated amount is not included on the card and you may adjust your total donation to allow for the $5 charge. If you are making a Gift in Lieu donation, type the occasion (e.g. Sam’s birthday or Muriel’s wedding) in the "Gift in Lieu card $5.00" "Box" above the 'Add to shopping cart' button. At checkout, prior to confirmation of the order, the recipient's details, and your personal message will be gathered as an extension to the order.

Should you wish to donate an amount different to the combinations listed, by credit card (call us on 303-404-0563) or by PayPal send the amount you wish to donate to accountant@kwaze-kwasa.com (in the notes write "Donation" and program if you which to designate).

100% of the donations are applied directly to programs that we support. We are able to apply 100% of net donations (amount received less bank charges) as our US and African operating costs are supported by the retail and wholesale art and craft sales.

All donations will be acknowledged and are tax deductible for US and Canadian taxpayers. Receipts will be issued electronically or by mail, however keep a copy of the invoice as proof of donation. Up to 100% of the donation may be deductible; the actual amount is dependent on an individual’s filing status and you should consult with the appropriate professionals.

Prior to receiving the donated car from Kwaze-Kwasa [USA] they hired taxis that did not always want to transport AIDS patients due to the stigma and many urban legends that surrounds the disease in Africa.

G= sadly, urban legends about AIDs and its cure are rampant. One of the most repugnant is the belief that sex with a virgin cures one of the disease. Girls aged 6 months to 12 years are very vulnerable.
