17x14" DJEMBE Maestro Three Drums SKU: K.17.03
An energetic rural African (possibly Luo) musician plays three traditional bongo drums (djembe). With a club-like drumstick in his left hand, he pounds the drums with hand and stick. The bare-footed musician wears colorful, traditional full length African handprint, cotton dress. Traditional music is an important and integral part of east African culture performed at many festive ceremonies, religious events, and political rallies. The about 17x14" (430x355mm ) signed, original abstract pastel paint and pen batik, on 100% medium to heavy cotton canvas, sells for more than $60 in the USA. We are able to offer them at moderate prices by contracting directly with the artisan at fair trade prices from his Ugandan and Kenyan workshops. More information on this style.
